601Artspace is a not-for-profit exhibition space which hopes to foster creative exchange among artists, art professionals, and an interested public. Arising from a private collection, the space provides an arena and a resource for curatorial activities, and offers a non-commercial and non-museum context for encounters with contemporary art.
Several times each year, the gallery invites an artist or curator to stage an exhibition, originating in and sometimes extending beyond the collection. It seeks unconventional strategies in theme and content, and encourages installations which may prompt new ways of seeing contemporary art. 601Artspace also promotes special projects that elicit new work from established and emerging artists.
